Broad Run Cheesehouse & Swiss Heritage Wines

A few years ago, a marriage took place at Broad Run. 

The perfect partner to the cheesehouse’s award-winning cheese was officially announced—Swiss Heritage Wines. Exclusively bottled on the premises, Swiss Heritage Wines have complemented the cheese perfectly. 

A variety of flavors to satisfy even the most discriminating palate are available and should be sampled at the cheesehouse’s wine tasting counter. 

Blending the expertise of some of the country’s most respected wine makers and the traditional old world wine knowledge, Swiss Heritage Wines are a local and tourist favorite. 

Known for making cheese for more than seven decades, Broad Run remains a family owned and operated establishment that is dedicated to providing only the best for its customers, whether in the cheese cooler, wine rack or on the curtain rods. 

In fact, what was once just a cheesehouse has developed into a finery shop with the addition of the Curtains & Lace portion of the store. Delicate window coverings and household decorative items add a unique section for shoppers. 
 

Hans' Place Restaurant & Tasting Room

A destination in the heart of Ohio, Hans’ Place opened in 2018 as part of Broad Run Corner. It’s where everything comes together to offer a place to enjoy a meal, a glass of wine and live music. 

With the same charm as the rolling hills in France’s famous vineyards and the lush countryside in California’s Napa Valley, Hans’ Place has its own allure—and a place where wine takes center stage with on-site wine production and a tasting room. The bucolic surroundings at the gateway of Amish Country makes for the perfect setting for this charming restaurant with an adjacent winery and cheesehouse.

From fresh—never frozen—burgers, to crisp salads and homemade soups, you will find an appreciable menu selection. And as you would expect from a restaurant located next to a cheesehouse, there is cheese aplenty on the menu. One of the favorites is the homemade fried cheesesticks—with a twist. Instead of the traditional appetizer filled with Mozzarella cheese, we use Swiss, Cheddar and Hot Pepper cheeses.
